my dear friend cary originally taught me to spin in july ‘08 on a top-whorl drop spindle she made with a dowel rod and some other bits and pieces.  i can’t find any pics of that first one in progress, but this is the skein that was created from it…  conveniently enough she was around [...]

the anxiety of leaving for a week is still there, but it’s dulled by my supercomprehensive list of everything i need to take with me – am i forgetting anything?  ten points to anyone who can come up with something i need to take that i don’t have on my list…
