1. finnigan randomly chooses handknits that i wear regularly and makes them into a comfy place to take a nap. tonight it was my scarf and hat, lying on a chair near the back door.

2. i seem to find the brighter side to just about everything even faster than i’ve ever found it, lately. and each one seems even brighter.

3. i heart cocktail hour at mom’s. mmmm shrimp & mexicali dip appetizers on a random tuesday night!

4. lots of fun things and good blog fodder ahead in the coming days/weeks… hell all kinds of fun things to come – i promise!

5. yay, my favorite holiday approaching… i’m knitting mom’s socks ’cause she liked the st. patrick’s day ones i did for myself, last year. here’s hers, in progress, a few more rows and i’ll start the heel flaps:

6. the socks above and my socks from last year were knit from yarn called flat feet that’s dyed by hand like a canvas on machine knit panels and then you unravel it as you go. mine from last year looked like this when i first got going:

7. we used flat feet to work two socks at a time for YC’s first installment of the 2010 sock club, too. they’re lagging, but the march/april colorway has arrived and i’m excited to look through some patterns to choose what will look lovely in our custom dye-job.

8. i might actually finish three Christmas present this weekend. and no, i’m not that good – these should have all been gifts two months ago!

9. i finished number two of the pirate hats mentioned in the last post on my lunch hour, yesterday… too bad those were the small ones – i can’t even consider myself half finished. heh. they go quickly, though, and they’re so stinkin’ cute. here’s #2:

10. oooh! i did some reverse applique last weekend with anna, aforementioned karen’s daughter, for karen’s birthday!! while karen was treated to dinner, anna and i worked diligently to present her with this when she returned…

i’m making a family set of skullies for a college buddy of mine that i’ll see next month for the first time in a handfulla years. the first one (the smallest one) is done…

i think it might seriously be one of the cutest things i’ve ever knit. i can’t stop giggling every time i look at it. joy is a lovely thing to know. i find a lot if it, lately. LIFE IS GOOD! WOOOOOOOH!

ok, so it’s nothing big, but i did blog at least once for every day of november. i really will try to keep it to three posts a week-ish, from here forward…

i finished another gift knit:

and that momentum takes me into the remaining 6 Christmas knitting projects (one is started, already). let’s see if i can swing it. there’s a little bit of other craftiness involved in the gifting plans, we’ll see how it all comes together…

as november comes to an end… and not far behind the year 2009… i wonder how it all goes by so quickly!

on a much lesser scale, i can’t believe the holiday weekend is already over and i’m back at work, tomorrow. can you believe tuesday is DECEMBER 1ST?!?!

i got a little more holiday shopping done, today, as well as finishing a Christmas knit:

i also moved forward on another that had been dormant for a couple weeks:

there’s so much more to do… but i’m feeling like i’m at least progressing.

enjoyed plenty more family time, today, too. that’s what the holidays are really about, right?!? and got my hands on a new holiday music album. sugarland’s green & gold. also got sister hazel’s merry little Christmas as my cell ringtone for the next month. hehehe holiday spirit… i haz it.

economy boost

today’s successes were of the purchasing variety…

i worked the shop and not only did we beat last year’s sales for the day, i contributed by falling victim to classic elite’s inca marl at 50% off…

i also got to have a fun dinner with some fam, got a little holiday shopping in at barnes & noble, and reclaimed my yellow bulky ribs and ruffles scarf from the gap, where i left it two weeks ago (hehehe wooops), added a couple things to my amazon wish list, shared it with fam, and have spent the rest of the evening here working on gift knitting. nice way to spend a saturday, if i do say so, myself!

so the mittens i’m working on are done but for one more thumb!

and while i was at a couple gatherings today i couldn’t knit on anything gifty that i had going, so i worked on these socks…

that’s handspun that jackie made me two years ago. they’re finally in the home stretch. i’ve wound off what i probably overestimated to be cuff & bind off and will work until one of the two balls that i split it into runs out. the joy of two at a time, toe up…

and finner friday, of course. he thinks the holidays wear him out…
