i like knitting
i like books. so i guess it makes a whole bunch of sense that i like books about knitting.

this is barely a dent in my library. they’re all out because i decided last thursday that i better start thinking about gift knitting for the holidays… uhhhh, you think?
so i’m sifting, i’m finding some promising choices. and now the race against the clock begins…
i’ve started a couple things, swatched a couple things, planned a couple others. i’m trying to knit from stash all i can, but i did find some fun inspiration at cornerstone, yesterday. i’ll blog those purchases as soon as there’s some light, i promise.
here’s the start of a peekaboo mitten and the yarn selection (which has been swatched) for a “dude, where’s my hat?”

the queensland collection kathmandu i picked up at yarn cravin’. they have some really ridiculously deeeelissssshhhhhusssss tweeds this fall.
and that blue/green/purple was one of the cornerstone purchases. crystal palace’s mochi plus. mmmmmmmmmm….
back at it. hug a veteran, tomorrow, ok?

I like to imagine you perusing your knitting books like I peruse my cookbooks.. It’s such a peaceful process, just sitting there with the book and a mug of coffee, making plans. I love it.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:15 pmHeh. Christmas knitting. I have a sneaking suspicion that’s not going to happen for my loved ones this year. Except for Grandma, I think I will make her another pair of Cable Twist socks.
